Wi-Fi Privacy Policy
Louis Park Hotel · 1129 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116
Effective July 29, 2026 · Version 2026-07-29.1
This policy explains what we collect when you use the wireless internet service at Louis Park Hotel, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers the Wi-Fi sign-in page and the guest network. "We" means Louis Park Hotel LLC, operator of Louis Park Hotel.
1. What We Collect
Information you give us at sign-in:
- your name
- your email address
- your mobile phone number
- whether you checked the optional box agreeing to receive marketing messages, along with the date and time and the IP address you submitted from
Information collected automatically by the network:
- your device's hardware (MAC) address
- the IP address assigned to your device
- device type, operating system, and browser
- which access point you connected through
- connection and disconnection times and session length
- the volume of data your device transferred
We do not routinely record the websites you visit or the content of your communications. We may examine traffic where necessary to investigate a suspected violation of the Terms of Use, protect the network, or comply with legal process.
We do not collect payment card information through the Wi-Fi service. We do not use the Wi-Fi service to track your physical location beyond knowing which access point on the property your device is connected to.
2. Why We Collect It
| Purpose | What we use |
|---|---|
| Authorize your device and give you internet access | MAC address, session data |
| Operate, troubleshoot, and secure the network | All technical data |
| Investigate abuse, fraud, or violations of the Terms | All data |
| Understand occupancy and network load | Aggregated session data |
| Respond to subpoenas, court orders, and lawful requests | All data |
| Send you marketing messages — only if you checked the optional box | Name, email, phone |
3. Marketing Messages and How to Stop Them
Marketing is optional. Checking the marketing box is never required to get online, and declining it does not limit your access in any way.
If you did check it, you agreed that we may send you promotional texts and emails, including by automated means. You can stop at any time:
- Texts: reply STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply.
- Email: use the unsubscribe link in any message. We honor requests within 10 business days.
- Either: email hello@louisparkhotel.com and we will remove you.
Opting out of marketing does not stop messages we need to send you about the Wi-Fi service itself or about a reservation you have made.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
4. Who We Share It With
- Service providers who run parts of the service for us — website hosting, database hosting, network equipment management, and email and text message delivery. They may use your information only to provide those services to us.
- Our property management system, to connect your Wi-Fi sign-in with your stay record.
- Law enforcement, regulators, and courts, when required by valid legal process or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person or to investigate suspected illegal activity.
- A buyer or successor, if the Hotel is sold, merged, or reorganized. Your information would remain subject to this policy or a successor policy no less protective.
5. How Long We Keep It
Network and session logs are retained for the period we need them for security and legal purposes and are then deleted or aggregated. Sign-in records — name, email, phone, and consent record — are retained while you remain on our guest list and for a reasonable period afterward to meet our legal recordkeeping obligations, including proving the consent you gave. If you ask us to delete your information, we may keep a minimal record of your opt-out so we do not contact you again by mistake.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold, including encryption in transit, encryption at rest for our database, and access limited to people who need it.
Please note that the guest Wi-Fi network itself is open and unencrypted. Safeguards on our records do not protect data you transmit over the network. See section 4 of the Terms of Use for what that means and what we recommend.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. If There Is a Breach
If personal information is acquired without authorization, we will notify affected individuals as required by the Louisiana Database Security Breach Notification Law (La. R.S. 51:3071 et seq.) and any other applicable law, without unreasonable delay and consistent with the needs of law enforcement and any measures necessary to determine the scope of the breach and restore the integrity of our systems.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You may ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you
- correct information that is wrong
- delete your information
- stop sending you marketing messages
Email hello@louisparkhotel.com with your request. We will respond within 45 days and may need to verify your identity first. We extend these choices to all guests regardless of where you live, though some residents of other states or countries may have additional rights under their own laws.
We will not deny you Wi-Fi access, charge you a different price, or give you a lesser experience because you exercised any of these rights.
9. Children
The Wi-Fi sign-in page is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, email hello@louisparkhotel.com and we will delete it.
10. Guests Visiting From Outside the United States
We are located in Louisiana, and the information we collect is stored and processed in the United States. United States law may not provide the same level of data protection as the laws of your home country. By using the Wi-Fi service, you understand that your information will be transferred to and handled in the United States.
11. Cookies
The Wi-Fi sign-in page uses only what it needs to function — a session cookie so the form works and your device can be matched to your submission. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels on the sign-in page.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. The version in effect is the one posted here when you connect, identified by the version number at the top. If we make a material change in how we use information already collected, we will take reasonable steps to notify you.
